In this foreign land, in this farewell, I say goodbye to the life I once held.
The people I’ve met, the one’s I’ve cherished, none of them exist.
We’ve crossed paths, the two of us instantly recognizing someone else in each others’ eyes,
and maybe…
…It was a comfort for the both of us, seeing a familiar glint in the other,
holding this connection even though it might have been an illusion.
However, there are no guarantees in the future.
Who knows?
One day we might be able to forget, and be able to lock gazes without the comparison of our pasts.
Maybe then, all will become clear.
