The past will always come back to haunt me.
To be honest, I thought I’d forgotten. Whenever he crosses my mind, I’d laugh at the memory and label him as blind for not looking my way. I thought… that I was better off than him, that he didn’t deserve me if he couldn’t determine my worth.
Perhaps that was just my way of being defensive?
